NATIONAL FILM DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
National Film Development Corporation of India is the central agency established to encourage the good cinema movement in the country. The primary goal of the NFDC is to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of the Indian film industry and foster excellence in cinema. Over the years NFDC has provided a wide range of services essential to the growth of Indian cinema. The NFDC (and its predecessor the Film Finance Corporation) has so far funded / produced over 300 films. These films, in various Indian languages, have been widely acclaimed and have won many national and international awards.
NATIONAL FILM CIRCLE (CHANDIGARH CHAPTER)
A National Film Circle (NFC) Chandigarh Chapter under NFDC Mumbai has been set up in collaboration with STEPS.The NFC is a Joint initiative of the Natioanl Film Development Corporation(NFDC), National Film Archives of India (NFAI) and Federation of Film Societies of India(FFSI).It screens quality cinema for cine lovers.Chandigarh is the first city to adopt this novel idea of having a National Film Circle after Mumbai.STEPS Chandigarh is providing membership of NFC.It also provides film enthusiasts an opportunity to see about 52 good, meaningful world-class films annually.Movies like Gandhi,Train to Pakistan,Pestonjee, Silsila, Kabhi Kabhie, Chaudhvin ka Chand, Aagantuk and Aar Paar have already been screened by NFC Chandigarh Chapter.Apart from films screening,members can also be a part of the events which are organised by Chandigarh Tourism from time to time.
The NFC membership is given to individuals and couples.Membership is now open for Corporates as well.The Corporate Membership can be granted to a minimum of ten people from an organisation @ Rs.700/- per person as an Annual Membership Fee.
